DUTIES OF THE STATISTICAL OFFICE IN SZCZECIN

The Statistical Office in Szczecin as a unit of the public statistics is subordinated to the Central Statistical Office and operates on the basis of:

Ξ  law dated 29th June 1995 on Public Statistic (Journal of Laws No. 88, item. 439 with later amendments),

Ξ  law dated 18th December 1998 on Civil Service (Journal of Laws 1999 No. 49, item 483 with later amendments),

Ξ Decree No. 16 of President of the Central Statistical Office, dated 25th November 1998 in regard particular range of purposes and organization by Statistical Office in Szczecin (Jurnal of Laws on CSO from 1998 No. 18, item 128 with later amendaments), 

Ξ Internal decree No. 1 of the Director of Statistical Office in Szczecin, dated 20th January 2003 with later amendments, introduced by Organizational Regulations of the Office.

 According to above documents main duties of the SO in Szczecin include:

  • organization and conduction of statistical surveys, including national censuses,
  • gathering, collection, storage and processing of data for statistical surveys conducted according to the Programme of Public Statistics,
  • dissemination and popularisation of statistical information
  • administering - in the part concerning Zachodniopomorskie Voivodship - country official registers:

    REGON - units of the national economy,
    TERYT - territorial division,

  • completing the following tasks for public statistics as a whole:  
    • realizing specialistic purposes regarding the statistics of maritime economy,
    • coordinating the works on the statistics of euroregions, participating in international cooperation in this area, particulary organizing statistical surveys and publishing editions about euroregion "Pomerania".
