DUTIES OF THE STATISTICAL OFFICE IN OLSZTYN
Statistical Office in Olsztyn belongs to public statistic services subordinated to the Central Statistical Office and acting on the base of:
& law dated 29th June 1995 on public statistic (Journal of Laws No. 88, item 439 with later amendments),
& instruction No. 6 of the President of the CSO dated 20th November 1998 on detailed scale of duties and organization of SO in Olsztyn (CSO Office Journal No. 16, item 108 (1998 with later amendments),
& Organization Statute of Office introduced by the instruction No. 9 of Director of the SO in Olsztyn dated 30th March 2007.
According to above documents main duties of the SO in Olsztyn include:
Special nationwide tasks carried out for public statistics as a whole:
- participation in international cooperation in field of Euroregional statistics, in particular organisation of common statistical surveys and generalisation and issuance of publications on Euroregion "Baltic",
- conduct of methodological and organisational work regarding the level and dynamics of industrial output,
- printing services for Statistical Offices in Białystok, Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk, Olsztyn i Szczecin.
Centres in Statistical Office in Olsztyn performing national tasks in statistics:
- Research Centre for Economic and Agricultural Surveys of the Rular Infrastructure
- conduct of methodological work, surveys and studies within the field of agricultural economics and rular infrastructure,
- cooperation on preparation and conduct of experimental and pilot surveys and generalisation of national data regarding chosen surveys from the field of rural areas statistics,
- Designing and Databases Centre
- conduct of design and programming work regarding agriculture, forestry, material managerment, transportation, demographics, border traffic, and within the scope encompassed by surveys on economic situation; detailed subject matter of performed work is determined separately by the President of CSO (temporarily),
- designing and programming of national systems for data processing, generalisation of aggregate tables and storage of files within the scope separately defined by the President of Central Statistic Office,
- Centre for Road Transport Statistics
- running the central database of vehicles encompassing vehicles registered in Poland (motor vehicles with total weight of 3,5 tons and over and loading capacity of 1,5 tonne or more and road tractors),
- organisation and with perfomance of work in field of road transport and cooperation in preparation, by the Central Statistical Office, of surveys methodology and aggregate studies and IT systems regarding transport statistics.
