GDP reflects the final result of the activity of all entities of the national economy.
Calculation of annual GDP involves estimating three equal in value, macro-economic categories that define GDP by:
1) The volume of production activity; GDP is the sum of gross value added of all institutional sectors or all sections, divisions of the Polish Classification of Activities (PKD) of the resident production units increased by taxes on products and diminished by subsidies on products,
2) The final result of production activity; GDP is calculated as the sum of the domestic demand i.e. final consumption expenditure and gross capital formation as well as external balance of goods and services,
3) The sum of primary incomes; GDP is calculated as the sum of primary incomes of the resident units obtained by institutional sectors acting within the territory of the Republic of Poland and primary net income of the Rest of the World sector.
