The annual average price of 1000 kg of hard coal is calculated on the basis of data on retail prices of two representatives: hard coal 1st class – cobbles and hard coal 1st class – nuts. The prices of these representatives are recorded once a month, from 1-25, compliant with the procedure established for the region under survey.
Average monthly prices of the representatives are calculated on the basis of series of records as arithmetic means. The annual retail price of hard coal is calculated as arithmetic mean from the twelve months of a calendar year, assuming that a monthly price of hard coal is an average of the two prices: hard coal 1st class –cobbles and nuts.
The monthly price serves as the basis for determining the amount of equivalent in money for coal allowance vested in former railway employees receiving pensions.
Retail price survey is compliant with the European law requirements.
