Rules for providing access to data from the REGON register

REGON register is open and on general release.

REGON register is accessible in form of periodically issued catalogues of selected groups of subjects entered into the register and in form of excerpts from the register provided on individual payable orders.

The following data, regarding business subjects, can be obtained from the REGON register:

identification number,
name (full or shortened),
location code (voivodship, district, commune, head office site, street),
head office address (with regard to natural persons running business activities - indicated by the subject on the RG-1 application form), which consists of: street, house number, apartment number, postal code and post office locality),
direct communication (telephone, fax),
legal form (basic, detailed),
proprietorial form,
performed activity, including type of predominant activity,
dates of: establishment, commencement of activity, its suspension, restoration or termination.

Information from REGON register can be provided by regional statistical offices (for voivodship range of subjects head offices) or by Central Statistical Office (national level or a number of voivodships) upon filing in a written request to the address of:

statistical office for a given voivodship,
Information Division of CSO.

Person filing in a request should, depending on nature of needs, define:

type of activities carried out by subjects, which the information pertains, in a descriptive form or using PKD codes at the adequate grouping level,
territorial range (country, voivodship, district, commune, locality),
basic and/or detailed legal form of subjects, on which the information shall be provided; legal forms can be submitted in a descriptive form or by codes.
form of data access (computer printout - data on the printout can be arranged according to one or more characteristics: voivodship, commune, proprietorial form, type of activity in order of their appearance requested by the customer, floppy disc - data recorded in ASCII code in DOS system, in txt. form, or with dbf., xls. extension - for an additional fee, at customer's specific request)
way of payment,
name, telephone, fax of a person that can be contacted on issues regarding the order.

Orders requiring search of information on subjects by the name of the units and addresses are performed according to a fee stated in "Price list for services rendered by official statistics services".

Excerpts from the registered are provided free of charge:

to bodies of government administration and to other governmental institutions, bodies of local autonomy, Supreme Chamber of Control, National Bank of Poland, State Labour Inspectorate and General Inspector for Protection of Personal Data for the purpose of fulfilling their statutory tasks, at a written request, as permanent and repeated orders (containing individual arrangements regarding date, frequency, scope of provided information, form of provided data) or one-time orders - in agreed time, which should not exceed 30 days from the date request is filed,
agencies running other official registers and information systems of public administration, in agreed scope, time and forms.
