Detailed scope of responsibilities and organisation of a regional statistical office is defined in statutes given by the President of the Central Statistical Office.

A director, who is a body of simple voivodship administration, appointed and dismissed by the President of the Central Statistical Office, manages regional statistical office. President of CSO entrusts responsibilities to a deputy or deputies of director of a regional office.

Director of the office may call permanent commissions or task force teams, determining their name, team, scope and mode of operation.

Responsibilities of each office include also execution of national special assignments, conducted within the framework of activities executed on behalf of official statistics as a whole.
