Every entity of national economy is obliged to register in the National Official Business Register REGON in order to obtain the identification number or to update some information about already registered entity or to delete the number from the register, taking into consideration actual and legal situation of entity. The registration form should be handed in the Statistical Office or its branch in the voivodship where the entity has its seat or where there is one's place of living (in case of natural person).
In order to register a new entity or to change some features in register one should fill in the form RG-1. In case of deleting the entity from the register one should fill in the form RG-2. The copies of documents which entitle the entity to run its economic activity or informing about deleting the entity from the original register should be enclosed to forms RG-1 or RG-2. There is a rule of registering proper form within 14 days of the occurrence of circumstances justifying registration or changes in register (art.42 , paragraph 4 of Law on Official Statistics dated 29th June 1995, Journal of Laws No. 88, item 439 with later amendments).
